'Iran and Israel to ceasefire after wounding up final missions; end to 12-day war': Trump

United States President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that both Iran and Israel have agreed to a "total ceasefire", ending 12 days of hostilities amid rising tensions in the Middle East. The truce pact comes after Iran launched Operation Tidings of Victory targeting US bases in the Middle East region during the late hours of Monday.
Calling the recent hostilities between Iran and Israel as the "122-day war", US President Trump said both sides have agreed to ceasefire after wounding up ongoing and final military missions. Ina post on Truth Social, Trump said, "It has been fully agreed by and between Israel and Iran that there will be a complete and total ceasefire (in approximately 6 hours from now, when Israel and Iran have wound down and completed their in progress, final missions!), for 12 hours, at which point the War will be considered, ENDED!"
The US president added, "Officially, Iran will start the ceasefire and, upon the 12th Hour, Israel will start the ceasefire and, upon the 24th Hour, an Official end to THE 12 DAY WAR will be saluted by the World." Trump congratulated both Iran and Israel for "having the stamina, courage, and intelligence" to end the war. Trump added the war could have destroyed the entire Middle East.
However, Iran's Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi said there has been "no agreement" on any ceasefire but Iran will stop firing if Israel stopped its "illegal aggression" against Tehran by 4am local time. In a recent post on X, hinting both sides have agreed to stop firing, Araghchi said, "The military operations of our powerful Armed Forces to punish Israel for its aggression continued until the very last minute, at 4am."
Iran targeted US bases in the Middle East during the late hours of Monday in retaliation to Operation Midnight Hammer. Iran targeted Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, Al-Udeid air base, which has around 10,000 US troops, is the forward headquarters for US Central Command CENTCOM.
Iran reportedly gave advance warning of the attack to Qatar and the United States, following which Doha closed its air space. US and Qatar claimed Iran's attack was successfully thwarted by their air defences and none suffered injuries.
