Mumbai: 42-Year-Old History-Sheeter Held With Pistol, 2 Live Cartridges In Mulund; Link To Illegal Arms Network Suspected

Mumbai: A 42-year-old history sheeter, who was wanted in an arms case, was arrested on Sunday night with a country-made pistol and two live cartridges in Mulund.

The police were hunting for Jagdish Vijay Yadav, who works as a driver, after the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), on June 11, nabbed two persons in Dombivli and seized four country-made pistols and 35 live cartridges. According to the police, Yadav, who is also from Dombivli, was previously booked in 2016 for a murder involving gunfire and destruction of evidence.

Probe is on to ascertain the source of the recovered weapon, while Yadav’s involvement is suspected in a larger illegal arms network.
