Ram Kapoor-starrer Mistry web series is all set to release on June 27, 2025 on JioHotsar. Ahead of the release, the actor has allegedly been removed from all the promotional campaigning due to sexually offensive and unprofessional remarks he made during a media interaction on Thursday (June 19). The decision was taken by senior leadership from Jio Hotstar’s team.

Ram Kapoor dropped from Mistry Promotions

According to a Midday report, few journalists observed that the actor, while seated with his Mistry co-star Mona Singh and JioHotstar executives, made repeated comments laden with sexual innuendo that caused discomfort among the star cast and the media.

“He had back-to-back interviews that day. Referring to the work pressure at one point, he said he feels ‘gang-raped’. This remark was made while one journalist was setting up her mic,” an insider from JioHotstar’s team told the publication.

JioHotstar takes strict action

The situation worsened when he, the next day, made additional nasty comments, not only to the media but also to the members of Jio Hotstar and PR teams. One recalled, “He looked at my colleague’s dress and referring to its length, said, ‘The clothes are distracting’.” Another said, “It didn’t hit immediately, but when it did later that evening, we started recounting the number of offensive things he said. He told one of our male colleagues that his mother should have faked a headache and he shouldn’t have been born. He made references to sex positions.”

Report further claimed that the next morning, JioHotstar’s team had internal discussions after multiple confirmations from the eyewitnesses. It was later finalised to remove Ram Kapoor from remaining promotional events of Mistry.

As of now, the actor has not made any official statement regarding the controversy. In the light of the matter, Mona Singh has been told to attend all the promotional appearances for Mistry, as she stars as a lead actress alongside Ram Kapoor on the show.
