Ram Kapoor dropped from ‘Mistry’ promotional campaign for sexual remarks made during media event

Ram Kapoor has reportedly been dropped from the promotional campaign for his upcoming comedy show Mistry. Higher-ups at the streaming platform JioHotstar made this decision as complaints rose against the actor for making lewd sexual remarks during a media event.
Mid-Day reported that said remarks were made during a media interaction for Mistry at JW Marriott, Juhu, on June 19. Kapoor was seated next to his co-star Mona Singh during the session when he made several sexually suggestive innuendos.
A JioHotstar insider disclosed to the publication, “The tone and content of his ‘jokes’ were unprofessional. He had back-to-back interviews that day. Referring to the work pressure at one point, he said he felt ‘gang-raped’. This remark was made while one journalist was setting up her mic."

One company executive also said that Kapoor made comments about the length of his colleague’s dress, labelling it “distracting”. Another executive mentioned that he was taken aback by the number of inappropriate comments made during the event. He said, “He told one of our male colleagues that his mother should have faked a headache and he shouldn’t have been born. He made references to sex positions.”
The JioHotstar insider said that a meeting was held to address the actor’s actions, following which it was decided that he would not take part in any more of the promotional events. Mona Singh will continue promotional duties on her own. “This workplace prioritises dignity and safety. After a complaint was formally raised and the incidents corroborated by eyewitnesses, the leadership moved promptly. The platform wants to distance itself from any behaviour that normalises workplace misconduct. The interviews are being solely held with Mona.”
