Noida will get 300 buses and Greater Noida and Yamuna Authority area will get 100-100 buses. These buses will be nine and 12 meters long. Regarding this, the financial bid of the project was opened on Monday in the Urban Transport Directorate of Uttar Pradesh.

The authority official said that a total of nine companies had applied in the financial bid, in which two agencies were selected on the proposal to operate the buses at the lowest rates. Now a joint special sponsorship organization (SPV) of the three authorities will be formed. The SPV will also have the opportunity to negotiate with these two selected agencies to reduce the rates before the agreement. This public transport service will operate on the Gross Cost Contract (GCC) model. Rs 675 crore will be spent on the project including the operation of 500 buses, necessary resources and other expenses. Every bus will have to travel 72000 kilometers per year. The process of forming SPV has started at all three authority levels. Noida Authority will lead this project.

Noida’s share has been fixed at 48 percent, Greater Noida and Yamuna’s at 26-26 percent. The cost of bus operation will be divided among the three authorities in the same proportion. The operation of the bus service and the route and fare will be decided by the SPV itself.

The capacity of the nine meter long e-bus running in the district will be 28 passengers, one handicapped passenger and the driver. Whereas, the passenger capacity of the 12 meter long e-bus will be 36 passengers excluding the driver and the handicapped passenger. 250 buses will be nine meters long and 250 buses will be 12 meters long.
