Aayush Sharma Undergoes 2 Back Surgeries After 'Ignoring' Injury Pain: 'What I Thought Was Temporary Turned Out To Be Serious'
Bollywood actor Aayush Sharma has revealed that he underwent two back surgeries following a long-standing injury that stemmed from performing a stunt during the filming of his action movie Ruslaan. In a social media post on Tuesday (June 24), the actor opened up about the physical and emotional toll of ignoring pain and said he is now on the road to recovery.
Aayush shared a couple of photos from the hospital and wrote, "Life has its way of slowing you down to make sure you listen. It started while pulling off a stunt during the action scene in Ruslaan … nothing too dramatic, so I did what most of us tend to do - ignored it, masked it, and kept going."
However, the pain eventually intensified while shooting for his current film, forcing him to confront its seriousness. "Movements that once felt like second nature - dancing, stunts, even the simplest stretches - became restricted," he revealed, calling it his "biggest mistake" to take the pain lightly.
Now, after undergoing two surgeries, the actor is officially on the road to recovery. Expressing gratitude, Aayush thanked his doctors, film team, and especially his family for their support.
"To my beautiful family - Arpita, Ahil, and Ayat - thank you for turning my bedrest into what felt more like a vacation than a punishment," he wrote.
Ending on a hopeful note, the actor recalled a touching moment with his son, "Ahil looked at me and said, 'Papa, you heal fast… I need my Wolverine back.' I'm coming back stronger. For you. For me. For all of it."
