In a similar incident took place last month, Arun Chandrakant Kadam (35), a driver, was arrested by Rabale police after robbing his employer, Vrushali Dalvi (58), at gunpoint. The incident occurred when Kadam coerced Dalvi into transferring Rs 30,000 through net banking and stole her gold chain worth Rs 75,000.
Recognised by Dalvi, Kadam's phone was off, prompting police to trace his wife, who helped in his arrest. Kadam, a history sheeter out on bail, sought Rs 5 lakh to repay a loan. He entered Dalvi's house under the pretext of repaying a loan, brandished a gun-like weapon, and demanded money. The gold chain has been recovered, but the investigation into the weapon used continues.
