Dramatic Rescue in Jammu: Man Saved from Rising Waters of Tawi River Using Rope Ladder | ABP NEWS

A heart-stopping rescue operation unfolded in Jammu as a man trapped in the fierce current of the Tawi River was saved by SDRF personnel after over an hour of intense effort. ABP News was the first to report the incident, which began when the water level in the normally dry Tawi River suddenly surged due to heavy rainfall in the surrounding hills. The man, who was reportedly collecting sand and gravel, found himself stranded beside a pillar under the Tawi bridge. In a rare and daring move, SDRF used a rope-ladder suspended from the bridge to attempt the rescue. However, due to the man's position near the pillar, the rope initially couldn't reach him. A trained SDRF jawan was then lowered with a harness to guide the man to safety. As water currents remained dangerously strong and unpredictable winds shook the rope-ladder, the operation required utmost precision and courage. The jawan reached the man, equipped him with a harness, and carefully began lifting him. Cheers erupted from the growing crowd as the man was finally brought to safety. The rescue was a rare example of rope-ladder extraction and showcased the bravery and preparedness of SDRF personnel.
