Increase in ticket prices
Traveling by Indian Railways is going to be expensive from July 1, 2025. Indian Railways has increased the price of some of its tickets from July 1. Indian Railways has now increased the fare in non-AC mail and express trains to Rs 1 per km. At the same time, the fare in AC class will be Rs 2 per km. Along with this, there has been no change in the fare of second class travel and monthly season ticket (MST) for a distance of up to 500 km, but for traveling more than 500 km, the fare will now be reduced to half a paisa per km.
Change in rules for Tatkal ticket booking
The rules for Tatkal ticket booking are also going to change from July 1. According to the new rules, from July 1, only Aadhaar verified users will be able to book their Tatkal tickets. Apart from this, agents will no longer be able to book Tatkal tickets during the first 30 minutes of the booking window. In the new timing, the time for AC class will be from 10:00 am to 10:30 am. Whereas for non-AC, this timing will be from 11:00 am to 11:30 am.
Aadhaar OTP authentication mandatory
A new rule of Railways is also going to be implemented from 15 July 2025. According to this rule, Aadhaar based OTP authentication will be made mandatory for Tatkal ticket booking from 15 July.
