Navi Mumbai News: Kharghar Commuters Express Frustration Over NMMT Bus Chaos Spurs Shiv Sena Intervention
Mounting frustration among daily commuters at the NMMT bus stop near Kharghar railway station has turned into a flashpoint for civic activism, drawing the attention of the Shiv Sena’s Panvel unit, which has now stepped in promising immediate action.
For months, passengers especially those traveling to Taloja Phase I, Phase II, and RAF have been grappling with unreliable bus services. Complaints range from erratic timings to buses being unavailable due to absent staff, often attributed to drivers and conductors taking extended meal breaks. With no system in place for timely communication or backup, the situation has become increasingly chaotic.
Sensing the growing public anger, local Shiv Sena leaders including Mangesh Ranade (City Coordinator, Panvel), Imtiaz Sheikh (City Organizer, Kharghar), Munaf Amirali (Area Head), and party worker Nikhat visited the bus stop to engage directly with commuters. The interaction revealed a deep-rooted dissatisfaction with the public transport system and the administration's apathy.
Rather than staging a protest, Shiv Sena has taken a proactive, solution-driven approach by seeking an immediate meeting with NMMT officials. The party leadership has assured citizens that a high-level dialogue with the transport authority will be initiated without delay to demand accountability and sustainable improvements.
