All district hospitals to offer free treatment from August 15: Saini
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Wednesday announced that all government hospitals at district headquarters across the state will be equipped with essential medical facilities and offer free treatment for all diseases, starting August 15.
M3M Foundation empowers girls
Earlier in the day, the M3M Foundation met with the Chief Minister in Kurukshetra to announce the launch of its ‘Neev Se Shikhar Tak’ initiative. The programme aims to empower girls from economically weaker sections by introducing them to challenging disciplines like mountaineering. The Foundation has selected 11 underprivileged girls from Haryana, sponsoring their Basic Mountaineering Course at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports, Manali. Foundation president Aishwarya Mahajan and chairperson Dr Payal Kanodia were present at the launch.
Addressing residents during a public outreach programme in Girdarpur village, the CM said, “The government hospitals at district level will be equipped with all the facilities. This will ensure that patients do not have to seek treatment elsewhere.”
He said a dedicated referral committee would be formed in each district hospital to guide patients to PGI or other advanced medical institutions when required.
The announcement came as part of the CM’s visit to the Ladwa Assembly constituency, where he toured villages, including Kishanpura, Ban, Behlolpur, Jalkheri and Girdarpur. He also announced a development grant of Rs 21 lakh for each village.
In Kishanpura, village sarpanch Sanjiv Kumar presented a list of 15 development demands. The CM assured prompt action and said the demands would be fulfilled.
“The government wants that the people of Haryana should get good treatment. The BJP government is working in mission mode and forming welfare policies for all sections of society,” he said.
“For the welfare of farmers, the government has been procuring crops at minimum support price (MSP).”
Reflecting on his political journey, he said, “I became an MLA and then Chief Minister because of the people of Ladwa. The residents here are like my family. Now Ladwa is seen with great respect in Haryana.”
He said over the past four months, development projects worth Rs 110 crore had been launched in Ladwa constituency.
Marking the 50th anniversary of the Emergency, the CM said, “Today marks 50 years since the declaration of Emergency, which remains the biggest atrocity after Independence. The younger generation must be aware of such incidents so that those dark times never return.”
