Bizman robbed of Rs 30 lakh at his residence
A Delhi-based businessman was allegedly robbed of Rs 30 lakh by unidentified assailants who allegedly barged into his residence in Southwest Delhi’s Vasant Kunj area, the police said on Wednesday.
The businessman is engaged in city gas distribution, they said. The incident took place on June 23. A case has been registered at the Vasant Kunj South police station.
The victim, Karan Chopra, told the police that three to four men forcefully entered his house and fled with the cash.
“A PCR call regarding the robbery was received at the Vasant Kunj South police station, following which several teams were immediately rushed to the spot,” a senior police officer said.
Chopra alleged that the accused allegedly entered the house forcibly and fled with Rs 30 lakh.
The police have registered a case under Sections 309(4) (robbery), 331(6) (house trespass) and 351(2) (criminal intimidation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Officials said CCTV footage from the area was being closely scrutinised and multiple teams had been deployed to gather local intelligence and identify the accused.
