Bhopal: Loot With Collection Manager, 6 Held With Cash

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Berasia police on Wednesday cracked the case of loot of ₹3.20 lakh with the collection manager of a liquor firm and arrested six persons. The miscreants committed the loot with the help of manager’s driver who has also been arrested, police said.

According to reports, Nazirabad resident Devendra Patel is a collection manager of a liquor firm. At about 10 pm on Monday, Patel was returning in a SUV to company’s office at Berasia after collecting cash from three liquor shops located in Nazirabad, Parsaura and Runaha.

His driver stopped the SUV after finding stones on the road near Parsaura-Bhojapura Ghati. Meanwhile, four miscreants suddenly appeared and sprayed chilli powder in Patel’s eyes. The miscreants then snatched the bag containing the cash.

SP Bhopal (rural) Pramod Sinha said Berasia police station Virendra Sen incharge scanned CCTV footages and rounded up Patel’s driver Manoj Pal on suspicion. At first he tried to mislead cops but then admitted his involvement in the loot with his friends.

On his confession, police arrested his aides Dhanraj Gurjar (19), Makhan Gurjar (22), Sachin Gaur (21), Ajay Kushwaha (20) and Kanha Gurjar (23), all residents of Nazirabad area. The bag containing ₹3.20 lakh was also recovered by police.

The driver Manoj Pal informed police that he planned the loot as he was aware that the collection manager collects hefty cash from liquor shops and deposits them at the company’s office every day.
