Israel Iran war: Saudi Arabia, UAE wanted THIS nation to win…, shocking details revealed
In the Iran-Israel conflict, all eyes were on the Muslim countries of the Middle East. There was a fear that all these countries would unite against the aggression of Israel and America and take some big step. But, the exact opposite happened. When Israel killed several senior Iranian military officials and nuclear scientists on June 13, some countries in the Gulf reacted sharply. They saw it as a sign of Iran’s decreasing regional threat. But later the situation became normal and almost all the countries became silent spectators and started watching the spectacle. In such a situation, the question arises that who did all these countries want to see win between Israel and Iran.
What is the doubt in Gulf countries about Iran?
Relations between Gulf countries and Iran have been tense since 1979, when Iran’s former supreme leader Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini vowed to spread the revolution that swept him to power that same year to other countries, reports Asia Times.
Iran’s neighbours saw this as an attempt to stage a coup at home. Several such small incidents fuelled ideological and religious differences between Iran and other Gulf countries. This led Gulf countries to view Iran as a major destabilising force in the Middle East. But recently, their hostility towards Iran has been replaced by uneasiness as Israel and the US are working indirectly for regime change in Tehran.
Iran brings war closer to Gulf countries
Iran’s retaliatory attacks on US military bases in Qatar and Iraq have now brought the conflict closer to the Gulf countries. Due to these attacks, many Gulf countries had to close their airspace. Whereas, Qatar has warned about its right to respond directly in a manner equal to the nature and scale of Iran’s attack. It is not yet clear what impact the attacks will have on the participation of Gulf countries in the conflict.
