Mumbai-Nashik Highway Accident: Massive Traffic Jam In Old Kasara Ghat After Container Truck Rams Into Another Vehicle; Visuals Surface

Mumbai: Traffic along the Old Kasara Ghat stretch of the Mumbai-Nashik Highway came to a halt early Thursday morning following a collision between two heavy vehicles. The accident occurred when a container truck lost control and rammed into another vehicle on the narrow, winding section of the ghat. The impact caused both vehicles to obstruct the entire roadway, halting all vehicular movement.

Visuals of the accident have surfaced on the internet. The damaged container truck can be seen blocking the entire road, disrupting traffic on both sides. Local police officials and other authorities can be seen engaged in relief operations on the site.

Efforts Taken To Restore Traffic Normalcy

In response to the mishap, the highway police immediately diverted traffic toward the new ghat route to prevent further congestion and ensure safety. Toll plaza staff and highway maintenance teams coordinated with heavy-duty crane operators to clear the wreckage and remove the containers. Commuters travelling between Mumbai and Nashik have been advised to use alternate routes and expect delays until the stretch is fully cleared.

Nashik Builder Dies In Car Crash On Samruddhi Expressway

Meanwhile, in a tragic incident near the same region, veteran builder Sunil Ganpatrao Hekare lost his life in a serious car accident on the Samruddhi Expressway on June 24. Hekare, aged 62, was returning to Nashik from Mumbai after attending a family function when the mishap occurred near Kasara.
