The actor, famed for his appearances in Veera, Kalari, Maari 2, and Kazhugu 2, was apprehended by the police yesterday for questioning at the Nungambakkam Police Station. "It's an ongoing investigation," sources told NDTV. "At this point, we have nothing to share. Following the interrogation, we will provide an update."

Krishna’s detainment comes after actor Srikanth was nabbed by the police on Monday. He is currently placed under judicial custody until July 7. Sources say that it was during Srikanth’s recorded statement that Krishna’s name popped up.

It was a drunken brawl at a nightclub in Nungambakkam on May 22 that uncovered the intricate drug ring within the film industry. Upon launching their probe, the police unearthed a major cocaine operation allegedly orchestrated by former AIADMK IT wing office-bearer T. Prasad.

Arrested along with seven others for the distribution of drugs, Prasad is known to have hosted drug-laced parties and supplied cocaine to celebrities and VIPs, including Krishna and Srikanth. Following an initial exam of call records, he was linked to a broader dealer network. The police nabbed two individuals—Pradeep Kumar from Salem and Ghanaian national John. Both were found to be in possession of Rs 40,000 in cash and 11 grams of cocaine.
