Joshua Zirkzee or Rasmus Hojlund? Manchester United to sell THIS striker to raise funds for future transfers: Report

Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund have not had ideal starts to their Manchester United careers. With a squad overhaul looming and Ruben Amorim’s team heavily linked with Bryan Mbeumo after landing Matheus Cunha, the two strikers were reportedly included in the sell list, with no future at the Theatre of Dreams.

However, a fresh report claims that Ruben Amorim is unwilling to let Dutch striker Zirkzee go. While he is open to selling Hojlund to raise funds, Zirkzee is still considered part of the project and may well link up with Cunha, Mbeumo, and a third striker who could arrive at Old Trafford ahead of next season.

Earlier, Viktor Gyökeres was linked with a reunion with Amorim, but most sources suggest it is unlikely the Swede would choose United over Arsenal. Victor Osimhen is also available, but the Nigerian is considered too expensive a target for the Red Devils.

Rasmus Hojlund, who arrived from Atalanta a couple of years ago, has managed 26 goals from 95 career appearances for the club. Former Bologna star Zirkzee, meanwhile, has scored seven goals in 49 matches across competitions since arriving in July 2024. Inter Milan are reportedly interested in bringing Hojlund—who cost United £72 million—back to Serie A.

26-year-old Brazil international forward Cunha signed a contract that will keep him at Old Trafford until June 2030, with the option of an additional year. A scintillating campaign with Wolverhampton Wanderers this past season meant there were many clubs interested in Cunha, but he decided to join Manchester United who are without European football as things stand.

Apart from the signings in the attacking department, reports suggest that United are also considering replacing Andre Onana in front of the goal with a more dependable custodian like Andriy Lunin or Emilio Martinez.
