‘Jitna Lalu Bheek Mein Denge…’: Prashant Kishor Alleges RJD Chief Runs Bihar Congress, Cites Favour To Sonia Gandhi
Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor has launched a sharp critique of the Congress-RJD alliance in Bihar, accusing the grand old party of lacking independence and relying entirely on Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav for survival in the state.
In a recent conversation with ANI Podcast, Kishor remarked, “Congress has no stand in Bihar. This is a party that has been riding Lalu Yadav’s coattails for the last 25-30 years. If Rahul Gandhi has political guts, he should contest
the elections in Bihar on his own. Or he should ask for an equal number of seats from Lalu Yadav.”
“Lalu Yadav Runs the Congress in Bihar”: Prashant Kishor
Kishor alleged that the Congress party in Bihar functions under the influence of Lalu Yadav, claiming that its allegiance to the RJD stems from an old political favour.
“Lalu Yadav runs the Congress in Bihar… When the issue of Sonia Gandhi being a foreign national was raised, Lalu Yadav came to the aid of the Gandhi family. Congress has been paying off that favour, without caring whether they ruin the future of Biharis in the process,” he told ANI.
"Entire Bihar Is Aware Of Lalu Yadav's Mentality": Prashant Kishor Slams RJD
Speaking to reporters in Sasaram, Bihar, Kishor further sharpened his attack on Lalu Yadav, calling the RJD a family-run outfit. “Obviously Lalu Yadav will remain RJD’s chief. It is his family’s party. It runs on his pockets… Someone asked Lalu Yadav why he made Rabri Devi the Chief Minister. He answered that if I don’t make my wife the CM, who else will I make the CM? Your wife? The entire Bihar is aware of Lalu Yadav’s mentality,” Kishor said, as per ANI.
He also criticised Lalu Yadav’s decision to appoint his wife, Rabri Devi, as the Chief Minister of Bihar, a move that has long been the subject of political debate.
In response to Kishor’s past criticism of his academic record, RJD leader and former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav defended his leadership, asserting that educational qualifications are not the sole benchmark of competence.
In an exclusive interview with ANI, Yadav said, “No… it doesn’t hurt me. You cannot get all the qualities just by having a degree. You have seen many things in practical life, but your experience of those is also limited. And I was a sportsperson, I am a cricketer, so he will not talk about it.”
Yadav pointed out that even the Prime Minister’s degree has been debated, stating, “But if it was a matter of degree, then, for eleven years, to date, the people of the country do not know what his degree is. But it is coming on us. So we will respect whoever is given the highest post.”
Earlier, while addressing a gathering in Bihar’s Saran on June 5, Kishor ridiculed Lalu Yadav’s aspirations for his son Tejashwi. Referring to Tejashwi’s lack of academic qualifications, Kishor said, “We need to learn from Lalu Prasad Yadav how to worry about children. Lalu ji’s son did not pass the 9th class, but Lalu Yadav is so worried about his child that he still wants him to become the king of Bihar. When we say this, people say that we complain about him. No! We are praising Lalu Yadav.”
Kishor juxtaposed the plight of educated youth struggling for jobs with what he described as dynastic politics in Bihar.
