Maha delegation visits Kala Amb for Shaurya Memorial construction

A delegation led by Vikas Kharge, Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) of Maharashtra, visited the historical war memorial at Kala Amb on Thursday to discuss the construction of the Shaurya Memorial, commemorating the three battles of Panipat. The meeting included district administration officers who reviewed the project’s progress at the mini secretariat.

Kharge paid homage to the Maratha heroes by offering flowers at the memorial and toured the accompanying museum. “Building this memorial is a matter of pride for all India. It symbolises valour and honours those who laid down their lives for the country,” he stated.

Deputy Commissioner Dr Virendra Kumar Dahiya informed that plans are underway to develop the memorial on 23 acres of land, with the land purchase process nearing completion through the e-Bhoomi portal. Currently, 7 acres are available, while the process to purchase the remaining 16 acres of land is ongoing through the Department of Information, Public Relations and Language.

DC Dahiya emphasized that cooperation from the Survey of India (ASI) department will be sought. The design concept will involve discussions with Maharashtra officials, aiming to present historical information in a modern and factual manner.
