NCC’s core values: ADG urges cadets to uphold discipline

Major-General JS Cheema, Additional Director General (ADG) of the National Cadet Corps Directorate for Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh (PHHP&C), visited the NCC Group Headquarters at Ambala Cantonment for the annual inspection.

On his arrival, NCC cadets presented a formal guard of honour to the ADG, marking the beginning of the ceremonial proceedings.

During the visit, Brigadier Rohit Sehgal, VSM, Group Commander of Ambala NCC Group, briefed Major- Gen Cheema on the training activities, achievements and initiatives undertaken by the group.

Special emphasis was laid on the ongoing efforts to expand NCC outreach in remote and rural areas, enabling more students to benefit from the training.

The ADG expressed appreciation for the commendable work being carried out by the Ambala Group and its units across various fields, including training, community outreach as well as youth development.

Major-Gen Cheema also held interactive sessions with Commanding Officers, Associate NCC Officers and cadets of the group. These engagements facilitated meaningful exchanges on leadership, discipline and the evolving role of NCC in nation-building.

Addressing the cadets, Maj-Gen Cheema urged them to uphold the highest standards of character, discipline and selfless service.

He further highlighted that the true objective of NCC training lies in building confidence, instilling values and preparing young individuals to become responsible, patriotic citizens.

The inspection visit served to reaffirm the NCC’s core mission of youth empowerment through leadership, service and national spirit.
