Priya Sachdev breaks silence on being Sunjay Kapur’s third wife, faced so many taunts: ‘Everyone told me…’
Famous industrialist and Karisma Kapoor’s ex-husband Sunjay Kapur passed away on June 12 after suffering a cardiac arrest. After a week, his mortal remains were brought back to India and he was laid to rest. For the uninitiated, Sunjay tied the knot for three times. While his first wife Nandita Mahtani and he parted ways in 2000, the businessman married the actress Karisma Kapoor in 2003. However, the two also parted ways in 2016. In 2017, Sunjay married Priya Sachdev. In an interview, Priya revealed what all she had to face after marrying Sunjay Kapur.
What Did Priya Sachdev Say About Marrying Sunjay Kapur?
Priya Sachdev revealed that when she made it public that she was marrying Sunjay Kapur, not many people came out in her support. Not just that, Sachdev’s close ones also told her that her decision was going to ruin her life. “Everyone said, ‘What are you doing? You’re going from the frying pan into the fire!’ And I understood why they said that. But I told them, ‘Trust me, there’s more to him.’”
When Priya Sachdev Married Vikram Chatwal
Priya also reflected on her past when she married Vikram Chatwal. She said initially she thought that it was a dream come true, but later things did not work. She said, “Vikram (Chatwal), my ex, had everything that seemed right. Everything matched—but it didn’t work out. With Sunjay, nothing matched outwardly, but something inside just felt right. I’d learned by then—it’s not about the cover, it’s about what’s within.”
In the same interview, Priya revealed that she has been judged all her life for who she is. She said that people have a misconception about her that she is unapproachable. However, reality is way too different.
She added, “When people actually meet me, they realize I’m not who they thought I was. And that’s why I could see Sunjay clearly too—because I know what it’s like to be misunderstood.”
