Congress Stamps Tejashwi Yadav's Name For Mahagathbandhan CM Face Ahead Of Bihar Elections

Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar on Friday set the record straight on Mahagathbandhan's candidate for the race for Bihar chief minister.

Speaking to news agency PTI, Kumar said the chief minister will be from Rashtriya Janata Dal if the opposition Mahagathbandhan alliance, comprising Congress and RJD, wins the elections.

He said there is "no confusion or dispute" in the alliance on Tejashwi Yadav being the main face for the CM post.

He also took a dig at the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar saying the BJP "will bring its own face whenever it gets a chance to remove Nitish Kumar."

The assembly elections in Bihar are slated to take place later this year. The countdown began after the Election Commission of India announced on Thursday that it will begin "Special Intensive Revision of Electoral Rolls" in the state.
