Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Amid heavy rainfall lashing the city, two tragic incidents unfolded on Wednesday, claiming the lives of two men who were simply trying to restore normalcy—one as part of his duty, and the other for his home.

DISCOM worker electrocuted, falls from pole

A 28-year-old DISCOM employee, Vinod Sisodia, was electrocuted while repairing a snapped power line in the Bhawrasla area under Banganga police station limits on Wednesday night.

Vinod, a resident of Bardari, had been working with the power company for over four years. On Wednesday, as part of a rain-recovery assignment, he was sent to restore electricity disrupted by the downpour. While working on an electric pole, a sudden return phase sent a powerful shock through the line. Vinod was flung off the pole and fell to the ground.

He was rushed to the hospital but died during treatment. Vinod is survived by his wife and a young child. He had married in 2021.

Police are investigating the exact sequence of events to understand how the fatal contact occurred.
