Payal Kapadia, Ayushmann Khurrana, Kamal Haasan among 534 members invited to the Oscars voting pool

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced on Thursday that it will extend an invitation to 534 new members to join its voting pool. With multiple notable names featured in the list, several Indian artists are also among those honoured.

All We Imagine as Light director Payal Kapadia, Article 15 and Andhadhun star Ayushmann Khurrana, and Vikram and Nayakan icon Kamal Haasan are among the Indian invitees joining the Academy.

Prominent Hollywood names among them include Gillian Anderson, Dave Bautista, Rachel Brosnahan, Jodie Comer, Emma Corrin, Kieran Culkin, Stephen Graham, Ariana Grande, Mikey Madison, Jason Momoa, Aubrey Plaza, Margaret Qualley, Andrew Scott, Sebastian Stan, Jeremy Strong, Fernanda Torres, Jimmy Kimmel, Conan O’Brien, Gia Coppola, Coralie Fargeat, Isobel Waller-Bridge, and Adam J. Graves.

“We are thrilled to invite this esteemed class of artists, technologists, and professionals to join the Academy,” said Academy CEO Bill Kramer and Academy President Janet Yang. “Through their commitment to filmmaking and the greater movie industry, these exceptionally talented individuals have made indelible contributions to our global filmmaking community.”

Those who accept the invitations will be the only additions to the Academy’s membership in 2025.

The Oscars are scheduled to take place on March 15, 2026. The voting period runs from January 12 to 16, with final nominees announced on January 22. American television host and comedian Conan O’Brien is set to host the ceremony.
