Sonakshi Sinha-starrer ‘Nikita Roy’ gets new release date

Sonakshi Sinha’s upcoming film Nikita Roy has a new release date. The movie which was slated to release on June 27, has now been pushed to July 18, 2025, citing multiple releases and battles for screens.
Sinha shared the official statement released by the producers on her Instagram page, which read, “Hi guys! We have found ourselves in the midst of multiple releases and a battle for screens…with advice from our well-wishers in the fraternity, distributors and exhibitors we have collectively decided to push our release to the 18th of July so that we can reach a wider audience. Thank you for the immense love you have shown for the film so far, but you’ll have to wait a little longer, and we promise you, 18th July will be worth the wait! See you in the theatres!”

The film was expected to clash with other new releases such as Brad Pitt’s F1: The Movie, Kajol’s Maa and Vishnu Manchu’s multi-starrer, mythological Telugu film Kannappa.
Earlier, the actress had shared her excitement about sharing her film’s release date with Kajol’s Maa. “It’s so cool that we’ve two films led by women that are releasing side by side. That’s like a step in the right direction, and, amazingly, it’s happening. And there’s room for everyone. Both are different films, and we wish them well. It’s like a good, healthy competition (between the two films),” Sinha said in an interview with PTI.
In a supernatural thriller, Nikita Roy follows a sceptical investigator who debunks supernatural claims, faced with a case that has the potential to challenge her rational beliefs and her entire scientific worldview. Written by Pavan Kirpalani of Phobia, the gripping and mysterious narrative explores the boundaries between perception and reality, uncovering themes of mysticism, paranoia, buried truths and the darker recesses of the human mind.
Helmed by Sinha’s sibling Kussh Sinha in his directorial debut, the film also stars Paresh Rawal, Arjun Rampal, and Suhail Nayyar in key roles.
