For petrolheads out there who love exhilarating performance, Mercedes-Benz just launched their new mean machine from its famed GT family, which can go from 0-100 kilometres per hour in just 3.2 seconds. The German luxury car maker introduced its latest high-performance sports car, the AMG GT 63 4MATIC+ coupe, in India on Friday. Along with it, Mercedes also drove in the more track-focused AMG GT 63 Pro.
The GT 63 features a 4.0 litre V8 bi-turbo engine producing 585 hp and 800 Nm of torque and can hit top speeds of 315km per hour. The GT 63 Pro, which features enhanced aerodynamics with additional air deflectors, upgraded cooling systems and track-optimised components, delivers 612 hp and 850 Nm of torque. Hitting a top speed of 317km per hour and going from 0-100 in 3.1 seconds, Mercedes says, this is the most performance-oriented AMG GT ever offered.
"In the last decade, we have seen this tribe of performance enthusiasts and driving enthusiasts growing in India and as performance found new expression, we continue to introduce new cars," said Santosh Iyer, MD and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India.
Apart from the performance, the two cars are packed with features just like other Mercedes and they certainly don't come cheap. The AMG GT 63 will be available at an introductory price of ₹3 crore ex-showroom, and the GT 63 Pro costs ₹3.65 crore. Mercedes has opened bookings for both cars. However, the deliveries of the GT 63 begin only in the October-December quarter of 2025 and the GT 63 Pro will be delivered in 2026.
For all the AMG enthusiasts, Mercedes plans to launch exclusive track experiences at India's premium racing circuits.
"The track experience will be a unique opportunity for customers to test their limits and check what it means to drive these machines. We will be launching the exclusive track experience, not just in one track, but in most of the tracks in India," noted Iyer.
Mercedes is also introducing the Manufacturer Programme, which allows buyers to hyper-personalise their vehicles.
Mercedes Benz is the largest luxury car maker in the country, offering a range of vehicles from the A-Class to the Maybachs and the performance-focused AMGs and in various powertrains, including electric. It sold 18,928 units in the 2024-25 financial year, up 4 per cent from a year ago.
