In July 2025, under the rules of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), banks will have different days off in many states due to regional festivals and occasions. These holidays will vary depending on the states and regions.
When will the banks be closed?
The first holiday in the month of July will be on July 3 (Thursday) for ‘Kharchi Puja’ in Agartala. After this, banks will be closed on July 5 (Saturday) on the occasion of the birthday of Guru Hargobind Ji in Jammu and Srinagar. Banks will remain closed on July 14 (Monday) in Shillong on account of Beh Dienkhlam festival. On July 16 (Wednesday) in Dehradun, there will be a holiday for Harela festival, which marks the onset of monsoon.
Holiday on second and fourth Saturdays
After this, banks will remain closed on July 17 (Thursday) for the death anniversary of freedom fighter U Tirot Singh in Shillong. Banks will remain closed on July 19 (Saturday) for Ker Puja in Agartala and on July 28 (Monday) for Drukpa Tse-ji (Buddhist holiday) in Gangtok. Apart from this, all banks will remain closed on second and fourth Saturdays i.e. July 12 and 26 and all Sundays (July 6, 13, 20, and 27).
Digital services will be available
During these holidays, the branches of banks will remain closed. But customers can use digital banking, ATMs and mobile apps during this time. However, services like check clearance, RTGS and NEFT may be delayed. Plan in advance for important work.
