V.S. Achuthanandan health updates: Doctors trying to stabilise heartbeat and respiration as condition remains unchanged

Former Kerala Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan's health condition continues to be unchanged, according to a medical bulletin released by the Sree Uthradom Thirunal Hospital.

Achuthanandan, aged 102, has been admitted to the hospital since Monday after he suffered a cardiac arrest. A team of expert doctors trying to stabilise his heartbeat and respiration. He is currently on life support and is being attended by a team of specialist doctors.

The former Kerala CM has been away from public life in recent years as he struggles with physical ailments. He is the only living founders of the CPI(M), which broke away from the undivided CPI in 1964.

Achuthandandan was the chief minister of Kerala from 2006 to 2011. He also served as the opposition leader for 15 years.

Earlier, CPI(M) State Secretary M.V. Govindan said the veteran party leader's condition was stable and improving. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Opposition leader V.D. Satheesan were among key personalities to visit meet the family members at the hospital recently.
