DM Ramban Bans Swimming, Bathing, Fishing & Roaming Near River Chenab, Nallahs For Public Safety
RAMBAN, June 27: District Magistrate Mohammad Alyas Khan, exercising powers under Section 163 of the BNSS, has issued an order imposing a complete ban on swimming, bathing, fishing and roaming near River Chenab and other water bodies across Ramban district to prevent mishaps and ensure public safety.
“It has been observed that during the summer season people especially youth and children frequently engage in Bathing, Fishing & Roaming unnecessarily near the banks of River Chenab and various other Nallahs across the district Ramban, which have proven extremely dangerous due to sudden surges in water levels, slippery terrains and strong undercurrents. Past incidents have tragically resulted in the loss of precious human lives. The District Administration urges the citizens to cooperate and stay away from riverbanks and Nallahs, especially during the monsoon season to safeguard their lives and the lives of others” the order stated.
“The Senior Superintendent of Police, Ramban, along with all concerned Sub-Divisional Magistrates, SDPOs, Tehsildars, Naib Tehsildars, SHOs and Incharge Police Posts shall ensure strict implementation of the order in their respective jurisdictions.”
