Hisar RWA meets MC officials, seeks better civic amenities

A delegation from the Resident Welfare Associations (RWA) representing Sector 16, 17, and Sector 13 (Part 2) met with Municipal Commissioner Neeraj and Mayor Praveen Popli on Friday to address pressing issues concerning civic amenities in their localities.

The RWA members, led by Inder Singh Malik, presented a comprehensive list of concerns affecting residents in these upscale areas developed by the Haryana Shahri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP).

One of the primary issues raised was the inadequacy of stormwater drains. Kulbir Duhan, a member of the delegation, emphasised the urgent need for installing grating (GT) wherever it is missing to prevent waterlogging during the monsoon season. The lack of street lighting was another significant concern discussed during the meeting. The delegation urged the authorities to repair and ensure the full functionality of all streetlights to enhance safety and visibility for residents.

In addition to these concerns, RWA members highlighted the poor state of cleanliness in their sectors. They reported that sanitation services are not being conducted effectively. The delegation requested an increase in the number of sanitation workers to guarantee regular and thorough cleaning across all areas. They also called for immediate repairs of damaged roads throughout the sectors.

Malik expressed serious concerns regarding the maintenance of green belts within the localities. He urged the administration to address this issue by repairing surrounding walls and installing protective grills to safeguard trees, thereby maintaining a clean and green environment. Furthermore, he pointed out illegal garbage dumping sites at key intersections and urged authorities to remove these points as part of ongoing beautification efforts.

The RWA also addressed another major issue — the presence of stray animals, including cows and monkeys, roaming freely within residential areas. They requested that officials take measures to eliminate this cattle menace. They also brought up concerns about broken benches at the women’s satsang venue and requested that old benches be replaced with new ones.

In response to these pressing issues, Municipal Commissioner Neeraj and Mayor Praveen Popli directed concerned officials to visit the sectors promptly and address these grievances on-site.

The delegation sought updates on ongoing construction work at Ganga Park and requested expedited repairs to the community center to ensure it is functional and accessible for all residents.

The delegation included Dr Harichand, Dharampal Kaliraman, Wazir Budhana, Kulbir Duhan, Charan Singh, Tilak Mehta, Rajan Mehta, Balbir Singh Lathar, Chatar Singh Goyat, and Charan Singh Jhajharia, among many others.
