GST seminar educates stakeholders

In a significant step toward enhancing public understanding and compliance under the Goods and Services Tax (GST) regime, a comprehensive GST awareness seminar was held on Friday, featuring participation from senior GST officers. The seminar aimed to educate taxpayers on the latest tax amendments and foster better coordination between taxpayers and assessing authorities to ensure smooth implementation of tax laws.

The event drew active participation from local traders, businessmen, consumers, tax consultants, advocates, chartered accountants and tax officials. Shri Rakesh Kumar Bhartiya, Joint Commissioner, State Tax, GST Wing (North Zone), was the chief guest at the seminar.

Bhartiya also announced that taxpayers who clear their outstanding GST dues by March 31, 2025, for the financial years 2017-18 to 2019-20, will be eligible for a waiver of interest and penalties.
