Devotees throng Jagannath Rath Yatra

JAMMU, June 27: Jagannath Rath Yatra Sewa Sansthan Trust here today under the supervision of Ratikant Swain, Trust president, took out Rath Yatra which was joined by a large number of devotees who paid obeisance to Lord Jagannath on a chariot.

The organisers welcomed the devotees and the Yatra started from the out-gate of M.A Stadium and then passed through Vinayak Bazar, Jewel Chowk, St. Peter School, Resham Ghar Colony, Maheshpura Chowk, Bhagat Singh Chowk, Gurudwara Road Bakshi Nagar Main Bazar, Shakti Nagar Main Bazar, Kali Mata Temple, Toph Sherkhanian, Kamla Palace Road, Talab Tillo Road, Gole Pulli and culminated at Sidheshwar Temple, Vikas Lane.
Tomorrow, the Yatra will be taken out from Sidheshwar Temple, Vikas Lane to Guest House, Pawan Ice Cream, Canal Road, Vinayak Bazar to culminate at Shiv Mandir on Tawi Bridge.
There is a legend of King Indradhuman who in a dream saw Lord Pandvansh and desired to have a glimpse of the Lord once again.
There was tight security arrangement along the route of the Rath Yatra to prevent any untoward incident.
