Mumbai Shocker: Car Driver Drags Airport Security Guard For 12 Metres After Argument At Terminal 1, Victim Critical; Case Registered
Mumbai: A car driver deliberately dragged a security guard for 10 to 12 metres, at the Mumbai Domestic Airport, Terminal 1 causing the guard to sustain serious injuries. After dragging the security guard, the driver collided with another car and damaged it.
The victim, Afroz Siddique, an employee of Cristal Security Company, who is in critical condition, is being treated at the VN Desai Hospital. The accused, Mohammad Khalil, a resident of Wadala, allegedly became violent because the security guard asked him to move his car, which was parked at a U-turn. The police detained the driver on June 25. The victim is an employee of Cristal Security Company.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), on June 26 at 1.30pm, security guards Afroz Siddique and Santosh Yadav were clearing traffic at the U-turn near Terminal 1 of the domestic airport. When Siddique asked the driver of a white car parked at the spot to move, the driver, Khalil, ignored him and later argued.
As Siddique stood in front of the car, Khalil, tried to flee, hitting him. Siddique got stuck on the bonnet and was dragged for 10 to 12 metres. Despite this, the driver sped ahead, braked suddenly, and threw Siddique off. He then rammed into another car before being stopped by guards and bystanders.
Siddique sustained serious back and hand injuries. His colleagues transported him to the hospital. Security guard Yadav informed the police. The police have registered a case under Sections 125(b) (act endangering life or personal safety of others) and 281 (rash driving or riding on a public way) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with relevant sections of the Motor Vehicles Act.
