WWE Smack Down Results: CM Punk Impersonates As John Cena Ahead Of Night Of Champions, Tiffany Stratton Retains Women's Championship
The latest episode of WWE Smack Down took place at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. With the pay-per-view of Night Of Champions looming, John Cena and CM Punk were engaged in a verbal war, while the main event of the episode saw the last woman standing bout for the WWE Women's Championship.
The episode opened with Jimmy Uso taking on JC Mateo, with the latter emerging victorious after hitting the Tour of the Islands. Later, Sikoa asked Jimmy if he is ready to return to their family but gets struck with a slap on his face. A furious Sikoa set Jimmy up for a Samoan spike but United States champion Jacob Fatu stormed to the ring to make the save.
Next up was the women's United States championship match between Zelina Vega and Giulia. The latter was crowned as the new champion. The men's tag team division was next in action as Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano locked horns against Andrade and Rey Fenix. The latter won the contest.
The street profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) put their tag team champions on the line against the Wyatt Sicks (Joe Gacy and Dexter Lumis). However, it ended in a no-contest as a brawl erupted. Even as Erick Rowan began taking out superstars one after the other, it was the Street Profits standing tall at the end of it all.
Naomi tries to interfere in WWE Women's Championship title match
The women's championship bout between Tiffany Stratton and Nia Jax saw Miss Money in the Bank Naomi interfere. Naomi tried to seize the opportunity to cash in the contract but Stratton cut her off, knocking off both Naomi and Jax.
Stratton hit the knockout blow to Jax by cracking her with the briefcase as the latter went through two tables, thereby failing to beat the count.
John Cena made his way to the ring first, followed by Punk, with the 'Basic Thuganomics' theme and impersonating as Cena. Punk accused Cena of burying more talent than The Undertaker did and vowed to defeat him at the Night of Champions.
