Bank Holiday Alert! Are Your Local Branches Closed Today? Check RBI List HERE
As the month draws to a close, banking services in parts of India will see a brief pause from June 28 to June 30 due to a combination of scheduled weekends and regional observances. The extent of the closures will vary depending on the state and the nature of the holiday.
Long-Weekend Holiday For Banks In June End
Saturday, June 28, marks the fourth Saturday of the month — a designated non-working day for banks across the country. The following day, Sunday, June 29, is a regular weekly holiday for all banking institutions.
On Monday, June 30, banks in the northeastern state of Mizoram will remain shut on account of Remna Ni, a state holiday that commemorates the signing of the Mizoram Peace Accord in 1986. This landmark agreement is remembered for bringing peace and ending years of conflict in the region. It is widely celebrated in Mizoram as a day symbolising reconciliation and unity.
Despite the long weekend in some areas, most banks across the rest of India will remain open, excluding the scheduled weekend offs. Customers with urgent banking needs are encouraged to verify their local bank’s operating schedule or check the official list of state-specific holidays to avoid any inconvenience.
While physical branches may be closed in select locations, essential services such as ATM withdrawals, mobile banking, internet banking, and banking apps will continue to function as usual. These digital platforms will ensure uninterrupted access to key financial services during the holiday period.

Upcoming Bank Holidays in July
Looking ahead to July 2025, banks across different regions of the country will observe several holidays, with up to 13 non-working days expected. This count includes weekly closures on Sundays, second and fourth Saturdays, and various state-level holidays.
The first major regional bank closure in July will occur on July 3 in Tripura, where banks will shut for Kharchi Puja, a traditional Hindu festival. On July 5, Jammu and Kashmir will observe public holidays in honour of Guru Hargobind Ji’s Birthday.
Further, more long weekend holidays are also lined up for bank employees next month. For seamless banking, customers are advised to plan transactions in advance and use digital platforms whenever possible.
