Mumbai: Airlines globally have been vigilant since the most terrible disaster in history occurred in Ahmedabad on June 12, and as a result, precautions are implemented in every possible way.
In a recent incident in the aviation industry, seven passengers became unwell after Ethiopian Airlines flight ET640, a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, experienced mid-air depressurization, necessitating an emergency landing in Mumbai. The incident occurred at 33,000 feet over the Arabian Sea, en route from Addis Ababa to Mumbai, when seven passengers required medical assistance upon landing, one of whom was hospitalized.

Usually, airplanes are pressurized with treated air and oxygen to accommodate high altitudes where oxygen concentrations are minimal. The Ethiopian Airlines event signifies an unusual breakdown of these systems, leading to a drop in cabin pressure and probably triggering panic among those onboard.
The civil aviation industry is being examined closely, particularly following the recent accident involving Air India flight AI171 shortly after its departure from Ahmedabad, leading to an official investigation by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The inquiry involves examining black box data to ascertain the reason for the crash.
On the AI130 flight from London to Mumbai, five passengers along with two crew members felt dizziness and nausea during the trip on Sunday, June 22. The plane landed safely in Mumbai, where medical teams were prepared to help. Passengers and crew alike continued to feel unwell after landing.
Air India is looking into the incident and has notified the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) regarding it. After the landing, two passengers and two crew members were taken to a medical facility for assessment and later released. Also, earlier that day, an Air India Express flight from Delhi to Jammu was forced to turn back shortly after takeoff because of a technical problem.
