Rajasthan ACB ASP Jagaram Meena Arrested With ₹50 Lakh In Bribery Case

Jaipur: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Rajasthan has arrested its Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) on alleged charges of bribery and extortion.

On Friday, about Rs 50 lakh was recovered from ASP Jagaram Meena. A currency counting machine had to be called to count this money. Rs. 9.35 lakh rupees were recovered from Meena's car and 40 lakh rupees from his house.

Director General ACB Dr. Ravi Prakash Meharda has relieved Jagaram Meena from duty after this action. Investigation has revealed that Meena used to extort money from employees and officers of the police, mining, and transport departments. He was removed from Jhalawar a few days ago, even after this he used to take 'bandhi' (extortion money).

As per the officials of the ACB the accused ASP was on the radar of the vigilance wing for two months. He was transferred to Bhilwara from Jhalawar a couple of days ago. The ACB team caught him on a national highway when he was on the way to Jaipur.

The team recovered Rs 9.35 lakh from his car and Rs 40.05 lakh and documents of a plot in a posh colony of Jaipur were found from the house during the search. Jewelry worth lakhs of rupees and a large number of expensive liquor bottles were also recovered by the team.

Notably, Meena is the second officer of the ACB who has been arrested for taking bribe. Earlier on May 19, ACB ASP Surendra Sharma was arrested from Jaipur.
