Indore: Excise Department Cracks Down on Illegal Ahatas, 27 Cases Registered on Day 2

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The Excise Department’s drive against illegal liquor joints continued for the second consecutive day in Madhya Pradesh's Indore.

Late Friday night, multiple teams from the department conducted raids across the city on establishments found serving or allowing the illegal consumption of liquor, seizing hundreds of litres of alcohol.

Simultaneously, action was taken against dhabas, restaurants, and other venues involved in serving liquor without proper authorization.

Under the direction of Assistant Excise Commissioner Abhishek Tiwari, teams led by Excise Controller Devesh Chaturvedi and ADEO Manoj Agrawal carried out surprise inspections at dhabas and restaurants located in both the eastern and western parts of the city.

Over a dozen establishments serve liquor illegally

During the inspection, over a dozen establishments were found serving liquor illegally. Authorities issued warnings to people consuming alcohol at these places and registered cases against the owners of the dhabas and restaurants for violating excise laws.

Raids at 14 places

The Excise Department teams carried out action at 14 dhabas, restaurants, and other premises in the city, registering a total of 27 cases. Specific actions included raids at a dhaba near Malwa Mill and Bhagwati Dhaba located at Scheme No. 78, resulting in two cases being filed.

Further operations were conducted near the Nipania liquor shop, Bhangia village, and near Kalindi Gold City. Other locations where action was taken include dhabas near the Palasia liquor shop, Yariyan Restaurant at Sajan Nagar, Deepshree Dhaba near Silicon City, Dada Ka Dhaba in Devguradia, New Sitting Zone, DeepShree Hotel and Dhaba at Rau, Maa Kalka Dhaba at Umaria, Dastoor Dhaba on Pithampur Road, Rajput Dhaba at Ghata Billod Khurd, Jammu and Kashmir Dhaba at Manglia, and several other places. Cases have been registered against the owners of these establishments.

Stricter action will be taken in the coming days

Officials have stated that this drive will continue relentlessly, and in the coming days, even stricter action will be taken against those serving liquor illegally or providing spaces for people to consume alcohol unlawfully.
