Army man dies by suicide

Javjalhar Vijay (36), a native of Maharashtra, serving as a Naik in the India Army, died by suicide by hanging himself in a quarter inside the military camp. After receiving information, officials from the Police Division 6 reached the spot. They sent the body to a hospital for autopsy.

As per information, the police said Javjalhar was a resident of Maharashtra. He had been posted as a Naik at the military camp in the Sherpur area some time ago. On Saturday morning, when a sanitation worker was cleaning the quarters, he saw through a window the hanging body of the victim.

During the preliminary investigation, it was revealed that the quarter where the man died by suicide belonged to his friend. His friend had gone home for some personal work. Javjalhar went into his room and hanged himself.

The police said the investigation suggests the soldier had been distressed for some time. He had divorced his wife. The police will proceed with further action after the autopsy on Sunday. The police have informed the deceased’s family in Maharashtra. They will take further action in the case only after his family’s arrival.
