Puri Rath Yatra Big Update: 3 dead, 50 injured in stampede near Shree Gundicha Temple

Puri Rath Yatra: In an unfortunate incident, at least 3 killed, 6 injured in stampede near Shree Gundicha Temple in Odisha’s Puri. According to the initial reports, the incident occurred when the three Raths with idols of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Goddess Shubhadra were passing by Shree Gundicha Temple, about three kilometres from Jagannath temple, where the Yatra began.

The incident took place around 4 am when hundreds of devotees gathered near the temple, Puri District Collector Siddharth S Swain said. The injured have been admitted to a nearby hospital, and the condition of six people is critical, he said.
