The official holiday calendar for banks is published by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) every year. These holidays include typical second and fourth Saturday, Sundays, national occasions such as Independence Day, and regional festivals. While the calendar is issued well in advance, often there are last-minute changes in the operating schedule of banks. Therefore, customers are advised to keep in touch with their local bank branches to avoid any inconvenience in their financial errands.

Bank Holidays Next Week

Banks in certain regions of India will remain shut on three specific days during the upcoming week due to regional festivities and commemorative events. As per the official calendar issued by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), bank branches in select cities will be closed on June 30, July 3, and July 5, 2025. Additionally, a nationwide bank holiday will be observed on Sunday, July 6.

While these closures are limited to particular locations, customers across India are advised to take note of the schedule if they plan to visit bank branches next week.

On Monday, June 30, 2025, bank branches in Aizawl will remain closed in observance of Remna Ni, a state holiday in Mizoram. This day commemorates the signing of the Mizoram Peace Accord in 1986, marking a significant chapter in the state's history.

Later in the week, banks in Agartala will be closed on Thursday, July 3, 2025, for Kharchi Puja. Celebrated in the state of Tripura, this Hindu festival is dedicated to the Chaturdasha Devata — the fourteen ancestral deities of the Tripuri community.

On Saturday, July 5, 2025, banks in Jammu and Srinagar will observe a holiday to mark the birth anniversary of Guru Hargobind Ji, the sixth of the ten revered Sikh Gurus.

It is important to note that banks across India, except in Jammu and Srinagar, will remain operational on July 5, as it falls on the first Saturday of the month. Under RBI regulations, branches typically remain open on the first and third Saturdays, while the second and fourth Saturdays are designated as holidays.

While physical branches may be closed in certain areas, digital banking channels will remain fully functional. Customers can access services such as internet banking, mobile apps, ATM transactions, card services, NEFT/RTGS fund transfers, and other essential functions like applying for lockers or managing standing instructions.
