BJP to name state chief on July 1

Finally, the BJP will get its state president on July 1. The party has announced the elections for the state president and eight national council members. “The BJP believes in democratic traditions and our national and state presidents are elected through democratic processes. The elections in over 8,000 booths, 171 blocks and 17 districts are over and now 114 delegates will choose the state president and national council members,” said Rajeev Bhardwaj, the BJP’s election in-charge, in a press conference here today.

Bhardwaj said the nomination process will take place on June 30, from 12 pm to 2 pm at the BJP headquarters in Shimla. The scrutiny of nominations will be done from 2 pm to 3 pm, and the withdrawal of nominations will be allowed from 3 pm to 5 pm. “The results will be declared on July 1 at 11 am at Hotel Peterhoff in Shimla by Union Minister Jitendra Singh,” said Bhardwaj.

The list of delegates includes prominent BJP leaders like Jagat Prakash Nadda, Jai Ram Thakur, Anurag Thakur, Satpal Singh Satti, Kangna Ranaut, Sikander Kumar, Randhir Sharma, etc.
