DC orders plot owners to clear garbage by July 10

Deputy Commissioner Dr Himanshu Aggarwal has issued a directive to plot owners across Jalandhar to clear garbage and waste from their vacant plots by July 10, warning that non-compliance will lead to stringent legal action.

Dr Aggarwal explained that piles of garbage and stagnant rainwater in vacant plots pose serious public health risks by attracting harmful bacteria and insects, particularly during the monsoon season, which can lead to disease outbreaks. Under Section 163 of the BNSS, the DC has placed the responsibility on plot owners to ensure cleanliness and hygiene on their properties.

Additionally, Dr Aggarwal has instructed plot owners to erect boundary walls or fencing around their vacant plots to prevent illegal dumping. The DC has tasked the ADC (Urban Development) and MC with ensuring strict enforcement of these orders in their areas.
