Justice Sant Parkash visits Central Jail K’thala, reviews inmates’ welfare
Punjab State Human Rights Commission Chairman, Justice Sant Parkash, visited Central Jail Kapurthala on Saturday evening to assess the welfare of inmates.
The Chairperson conducted an on-site inspection of medical facilities, food quality and addressed several grievances raised by the inmates, issuing necessary directives to both jail and civil authorities.
During the visit, Justice Parkash interacted directly with the inmates to understand their concerns, informing them of their legal rights. He inspected the jail kitchen and personally sampled the meal, which was found to be of satisfactory quality.
Justice Parkash also reviewed the medical facilities at the jail, directing civil and jail authorities to ensure that all inmates receive timely and adequate treatment. Several grievances raised by inmates were immediately resolved through the Chairperson’s directives to the concerned officials.
The civil and jail authorities assured Justice Parkash that all identified shortcomings would be addressed promptly to improve the overall conditions at the jail.
