'Who broke My Bat?': Mohammed Siraj's Makes An Angry Query During Team India's Practice Session Before IND Vs ENG 2nd Test; Claims Report
Having lost the opening Test to England at Leeds, Team India is gearing up for the second Test at Edgbaston starting July 2. During the intense training session, a lighthearted occurred on the ground involving pacer Mohammed Siraj.
The Times of India shared a video which shows, Siraj looking surprised to discover his bat was damaged. In a moment caught on camera, he exclaimed, “How’s my bat broken? Who broke my bat, yaar?”. However, the frustration Soon turned to laughter, offering a light moment amid the serious build-up to a crucial Test.
Selection headache for Team India
With just a three-day turnaround between the second and third Tests, the team management is expected to rest Bumrah for the second match to manage his workload across the five-match series.
In Bumrah’s likely absence, the spotlight will shift squarely onto Siraj, who now becomes the senior-most pacer in the lineup. His performance in the series opener was modest two wickets in 41 overs and he’ll need to step up both as a wicket-taker and a leader of the bowling attack.
While Arshdeep Singh and Akash Deep were seen actively bowling in the nets, both Bumrah and Prasidh Krishna skipped training altogether, fueling speculation that one of the younger quicks might be in line for a debut or a recall.
Remove Bumrah, and team India's pace battery will witness it's powere being reducd to half. While Siraj is the senior figure in abasence of Bumrah but his patchy form in red-ball cricket is cause of concern. Akash Deep has shown promise, but has played most of the matches at home. Prasidh was expensive in Leeds, and Arshdeep has yet to earn his cap. As India weighs its options, the team’s depth in fast bowling will be tested.
