New Delhi: Good news for the Indians travelling to the United Arab Emirates, the UAE Embassy in New Delhi has announced that the visa-on-arrival facility for Indians has been expanded. According to the latest order, the Indian citizens who hold valid residence permits from Australia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, South Korea, and Singapore can obtain a visa on arrival at all entry points in the UAE. It is important to note that this new facility has been implemented from February 13, 2025.
Expansion of Existing Rules
To recall, prior to this new change, the Indian citizens were only eligible for a visa on arrival in the UAE only if they held a valid visa, residence permit, or Green Card from the United States, European Union (EU), or the United Kingdom (UK). Now, with the new changes, six more countries have been added to this list, making travel to the UAE even more convenient for Indian travelers.
As per the UAE government, the open and easy travel management plays a pivotal role in building a strong human relations between the two countries. Especially for nations like India and the UAE, which are connected economically, culturally, and strategically, this initiative is a symbol of trust and cooperation.
‘This Step Will Further Strengthen Ties’
The UAE Ambassador to India, Dr. Abdulnasser Alshaali, described this initiative as a strong signal of the India-UAE partnership. He said, “The expansion of the visa-on-arrival program for Indian citizens is a testament to our strong partnership with India. It is a practical step that will make family reunions easier, increase opportunities for professional collaboration, and give a boost to trade.”
