‘Ek hi format se…….’: Ravindra Jadeja reacts to Rishabh Pant’s joke on All-rounder’s T20 Retirement, video going viral
New Delhi: Indian players celebrated the first anniversary of their 2024 T20 World Cup win in England. On this occasion, the players cut the cake and enjoyed the historic moment together. India won this World Cup in 2024 and exactly one year later the players gathered to make it memorable.
Which players were involved?
The players who took part in this celebration are present in England for the India vs England Test series. These players include Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Mohammad Siraj. All of them were part of the team that won the World Cup in 2024. Test captain Shubman Gill was not in the team at that time but he was among the reserve players but did not go to the West Indies.
Rishabh Pant’s joke and Jadeja’s reply
During the celebration, Rishabh Pant jokingly reminded Ravindra Jadeja of his T20 International retirement. Pant said, “Happy retirement to Jaddu Bhaiya, it’s been a year.” To this, Jadeja immediately replied that he has retired from only one format.

Jadeja has continued to play in Test and ODI cricket even after retirement from T20I cricket. He was also part of the Indian team that won the Champions Trophy in 2025. He still remains India’s first-choice all-rounder in Tests and ODIs. Jadeja played 74 T20 International matches, in which he scored 515 runs and took 54 wickets.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli also retired
After winning the T20 World Cup, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli also retired from T20 Internationals. Rohit made this announcement in the post-match press conference while Virat announced his retirement minutes after the final. Both the legends have also retired from Test cricket in April 2025 and are now active only in ODIs. Rohit Sharma will captain India in the 2027 ODI World Cup.
Next match: India vs England 2nd Test at Edgbaston
The second Test between India and England will start on July 2. The match will be played at Edgbaston Cricket Stadium in Birmingham. England are leading 1-0 in the five-match series. In the first Test, England took the lead in the series by achieving the target of 371 runs.
