Kerala Man Brings Bag With Skeletal Remains Of 2 Babies To Police Station, Unravels Chilling Murders

A 23-year-old woman from Kerala has been arrested along with her 25-year-old partner for allegedly killing two newborn babies born during their relationship, according to police. The disturbing case surfaced after the man, identified as Bavin, arrived at Pudukad police station early on Sunday morning carrying a bag that he claimed contained the skeletal remains of two infants.

Officers said Bavin appeared to be under the influence of alcohol when he arrived around 12.30 am and revealed that the babies had died in separate incidents, news agency PTI reported.

Conflicting Accounts of First Child Death

Investigating officers stated that during her initial questioning, the woman, Aneesha, told them that her first baby had died accidentally when its umbilical cord wrapped around its neck during birth, an incident she claimed occurred in 2022. However, police said Aneesha later confessed to intentionally suffocating the baby shortly after delivery and burying the body near her residence.

Eight months later, she allegedly exhumed the remains and handed them over to Bavin, reportedly for funeral rituals.

Second Baby’s Death and Confession

Authorities added that Aneesha has also admitted to killing a second baby born from the same relationship in 2024. She allegedly suffocated the newborn after it started crying and then gave the body to Bavin, who buried it.

Preliminary forensic examinations have confirmed that the remains found are those of two infants, police said, as per PTI.

According to the police, Aneesha and Bavin began their relationship in 2020 after meeting on Facebook. They were in a relationship but not married. Police are probing whether the woman’s family had any knowledge of the pregnancies and births.

The case reportedly came to light following disputes between the couple, including Bavin’s suspicions about the woman possibly marrying another man and concerns about her second mobile phone. These tensions ultimately led Bavin to approach the police with the remains, which exposed the alleged crimes.

Police have registered both Aneesha and Bavin as accused in the case, with Bavin facing charges for failing to provide medical care during the pregnancies and concealing the deaths.
