Local accuses police of taking cash, jewellery from house

Laksh Aggarwal, a resident of South City in Ludhiana and director of M/s Treya Agro Mills Pvt Ltd, today made a serious allegation against Mullanpur Dakha police.

Addressing a press conference here today, Laksh showed CCTV footage photos showing police entering his house and alleged that on June 21, Mullanpur Dakha police station SHO Hamraj Singh, along with a team of police, including two lady officers, entered his house illegally without any search warrant.

He alleged that one of the police officers climbed over the gate and broke open the lock of the main gate. He further said that the team entered the house and broke the locks of doors of the house and cupboards, and during this illegal action, they took Rs 20.90 lakh and jewellery worth Rs 1.5-2 crore. Further, he also alleged that important documents had also been taken and no receipt was provided for the items taken by the police.

He stated that there was a property dispute going on and certain persons of Mullanpur were trying to create hurdles with regard to legal possession of the said property and he had filed a civil suit against them and was granted ex parte stay in his favour on May 31.

Laksh further said that on June 8, these persons, along with the police team, entered his property and demolished some walls. “We complained to the police to register a case against them, but no heed was paid and on the complaint of the opposite party, Jagdeep Singh, a case was registered against unknown persons. He also said that police officials were allegedly threatening to give the possession of the property to the opposing party.

When SHO, Mullanpur Dakha police station, Hamraj Singh was contacted over the issue, he said an FIR had been registered against the complainants and a raid was conducted at the house and now they were making false and baseless allegations against them.
