Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva, Minister Parvesh Verma, MPs Manoj Tiwari, Yogender Chandolia and Bansuri Swaraj, along with several BJP MLAs and state office-bearers, performed a havan and paid floral tributes at the memorial.

Speaking on the occasion, Sachdeva remembered the former CM as a visionary leader who transformed rural Delhi through unprecedented development initiatives.

“Comprehensive progress achieved under Sahib Singh Verma’s leadership is unforgettable. His dedication and ideals continue to inspire us every day,” he said.

Sachdeva said the Delhi BJP Government was committed to completing Sahib Singh Verma’s unfinished projects and realising his vision for a developed and inclusive Delhi. He highlighted how Sahib Singh Verma’s practice of conducting regular early morning field visits to directly listening to people’s grievances set a rare example of accessible governance. “That’s why, he still lives in the hearts of Delhi people,” Sachdeva remarked.

Remembering his late father, Parvesh Verma described him not only as a guiding parent but also as a mentor who shaped his political outlook. “His simplicity was legendary. He was regarded as a messiah for the poor, Dalits, backward classes and farmers,” said Parvesh.

He emphasised that Sahib Singh Verma’s commitment to uplift rural communities and underprivileged sections of society is what defined his political journey.

“Whether it was rural Delhi, Shalimar Bagh or Outer Delhi, he served tirelessly in the Assembly and Lok Sabha to ensure the welfare of every section of society,” he added.

The event saw the participation of BJP workers and supporters, who pledged to carry forward Sahib Singh Verma’s legacy of inclusive development and people-centric governance.
